Cycloidal Drive
This project was just a fun exercise in CAD modeling and 3D printing. I designed and built a cycloidal drive gearbox using 3D printed parts and off-the-shelf components. The gearbox has a reduction ratio of 25:1 and is back-drivable.
Procedure Applied:
- Designed a cycloidal drive gearbox using Solidworks
- 3D printed the cycloidal disc and housing
- Used off-the-shelf components to ensure smooth operation (bearings, bushings, etc.)
Skills Applied:
- CAD modeling (Solidworks)
- 3D printing (FDM)
- Mechanical assembly and testing
Key Outcomes:
- Successfully created a functional cycloidal drive gearbox with a 25:1 reduction ratio
